Geoff Miles was a Human child in the fourth grade in the year 2151. A student in Miss Malvin's class at the Worley Elementary School in Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland on Earth, Geoff sent questions, letters, and drawings to Enterprise.

Geoff's question was "Is dating allowed on Enterprise?" and one of the few that Captain Archer personally answered. Archer explained to Geoff that while Starfleet regulations allow dating among crew members, it is mostly impractical due to privacy concerns. Archer did go on to note that if "two crew members really like each other, there are a lot of places they can go to look at the stars". (ENT: "Breaking the Ice")
