The genome of an organism is the complete set of genetic information necessary to encode and control all of the proteins the organism will ever synthesize. It also refers to the actual information-bearing molecule - in the case of Humans this is DNA. Sexual reproduction involves genetic recombination of information encoded in the male and female genomes. Eugenics and genetic engineering involve directed manipulation of the information encoded in the genome.

One of the issues surrounding World War III was reported to be disputes regarding Human genome enhancement and other forms of genetic engineering. (ENT: "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II" production art; see this image)

Analysis of the Menk genome by Phlox indicated that they had the potential to become the dominant species on their planet. (ENT: "Dear Doctor")

Doctor Arik Soong theorized that a specific defect in the Augment genome led to disregulated neurotransmitter levels, making the Augments susceptible to violent behavior. (ENT: "The Augments")

The unique genomic profile of each Vulcan was cataloged by the Vulcan Genome Registry. (ENT: "The Forge")

While working with Antaak during the metagenic Klingon augment virus crisis, Phlox was forced to perfect the Augment genome. (ENT: "Divergence")

Errors in the recombination of Vulcan and Human DNA during Terra Prime's creation of Elizabeth led to a life-threatening defect in her genome. (ENT: "Terra Prime")

In 2154 Phlox managed to deduce from a brain wave pattern that it's originator's genome was close to that of Andorians. (ENT: "The Aenar")

The viral parasite that infected Tuvok in 2293 had an unrecorded genome classification. (VOY: "Flashback")

In 2371, Sulan reconstituted B'Elanna Torres' genome to make her purely Klingon. (VOY: "Faces")

Captain Janeway requested that the computer run a genome projection algorithm to extrapolate the evolution of the Hadrosaur. (VOY: "Distant Origin")

The Rilnar introduced an antibody into the Krenim genome that protected them from a plague. (VOY: "Year of Hell")

During an analysis of instruments on the main workbench in Kovin's lab, The Doctor detected evidence of Seven of Nine's genome. (VOY: "Retrospect")

During the Kyrian re-creation of "The Voyager Encounter", the Emergency Medical Android had examined the Kyrian genome and determined they would be vulnerable to any number of biological weapons. (VOY: "Living Witness")

A genome thief ran a DNA stability analysis in 2374 to determine the length of time until his genome reverted to its previous form. (VOY: "Vis à Vis")

Icheb analyzed his genome in 2376 and determined that his parents made microgenetic alterations that would produce a pathogen engineered to destroy the Borg. (VOY: "Child's Play")

In 2377, B'Elanna Torres ran a holodeck simulation in which she modified her unborn child's genome. (VOY: "Lineage")
