Thomas Eugene "Gene" DeWeese (born 31 January 1934; age 78) is the author of several Star Trek: The Next Generation novels. Apart from his work on Star Trek novels, DeWeese published several science fiction, fantasy, Gothic, romance, mystery, suspense and horror novels, and also non-fiction books on technology and folk art. He began his writing career as a science fiction fandom writer, publishing in fanzines.
