Gemulon V was the uninhabited fifth planet in the Gemulon star system. Gemulon V was to be the home of a Federation colony in the late 2350s, but the SS Santa Maria never reached its destination. Officially, it developed life support problems while traveling through the Orellius system and was forced to crash land on a planet, where the would-be colonists made a home for themselves before finally being discovered by Benjamin Sisko and Miles O'Brien over ten years later. Unofficially, Alixus had never intended for the vessel to reach Gemulon V, and its true destination was always meant to be the uninhabited planet in the Orellius system. (DS9: "Paradise")

"GEHM-you-lahn" was the pronunciation for this planet's name from the script pronunciation guide. [1]; however, "GHEMM-you-lon" was the pronunciation for this planet from Startrek.com. This website alleged that this planet, presumably M-class, was located in a sector adjacent to the Bajor sector. [2] [3]
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (pg. 46), the Gemulon system was located in non-aligned space, in the Alpha Quadrant. This system was a trinary star system. Primary was a Class G star with a magnitude of +3, which was ten times brighter than Sol. Secondary was a Class K star. Tertiary was a Class M stars.
