A gas flow separator is a component of a warp injector.

In a hallucination caused by a non-corporeal lifeform in 2373, a Vidiian attack caused the gas flow separators to fail on the shuttle Sacajawea, carrying Captain Kathryn Janeway and Commander Chakotay. The injectors then leaked antimatter, causing a warp core breach. (VOY: "Coda")
