Garuth was an empathic metamorph from the planet Valt Minor. She was loved by both rulers of the Kriosian empire, the brothers Valt and Krios.

The two became divided over their love for Garuth. Krios eventually kidnapped Garuth from Valt Minor and took her to the planet that became Krios Prime. This action started a centuries long war between the two worlds, and would not be resolved until another empathic metamorph, named Kamala, was returned to Valt. (TNG: "The Perfect Mate")
