Biography
In January of 2155, Gardner was the receptient of data that Commander Template:MU had obtained on the USS Defiant, later causing him to order Captain Maximilian Forrest to investigate Archer's "mystery ship" as ISS Enterprise had been locked onto a course anyway. (ENT: "In a Mirror, Darkly")
After the surviving crew of the Enterprise recovered the Defiant, Garnder responded to Commander Archer's request for Starfleet to surrender unconditionally. He accused Archer of losing his mind, and warned Archer against approching Earth, as Defiant would be fired upon if he did. After Hoshi Sato took over the Defiant by poisoning Archer, she raised Gardner as "Empress Sato" upon arrival, telling him to stand down and await instructions, or she would open fire on Earth.
