The Explored Galaxy

The location of Gamma Trianguli on "The Explored Galaxy" star chart

Gamma Trianguli was the primary of the inhabited Gamma Trianguli system. This system was located in the Gamma Trianguli sector.

In 2293, the location of Gamma Trianguli in the Milky Way Galaxy was labeled in a star chart that was in Captain James T. Kirk's quarters aboard the USS Enterprise-A. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, okudagram; ENT: "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II", product art)

Gamma Trianguli VI, the homeworld of the Vaalians, had an atmosphere which was regulated by the super computer Vaal. Under Vaal's governance, the atmosphere filtered out any harmful effects from the star. The Vaalians believed that Vaal caused the sun to shine. (TOS: "The Apple")

In 2368, the location of Gamma Trianguli was labeled on the tachyon detection grid that was displayed on one of the viewscreens of the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG: "Redemption II", okudagram remastered)

According to Star Trek: Star Charts (pg. 37), the Gamma Trianguli system was located in or near Federation space, in the Alpha Quadrant. This system was a single star system. Gamma Trianguli was an A-class star with a magnitude of +3, which was ten times brighter than Sol.
