Gamma Tauri IV was the fourth planet in the Gamma Tauri system. This planet was the location of an unmanned Federation monitoring post, from which the Ferengi stole a T-9 energy converter in 2364. The theft was recorded on automatic scanners. (TNG: "The Last Outpost")
The planet was shown on a Federation tactical map of the Cardassian border. (DS9: "Tears of the Prophets")
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (pg. 37), the Gamma Tauri system was located in or near Federation space, in the Alpha Quadrant. This was a single star system. Primary was a Class G star with a magnitude of +1, which was 100 times brighter than Sol.
