Gamma II was the uninhabited second planet in the Gamma system. This ringed planet was affiliated with the United Federation of Planets.
Prior to stardate 3211, the Federation installed an automatic communications and astrogation station on this planet. It was located 11.630 light years from M24 Alpha.
In 2268, Captain James T. Kirk, Lieutenant Uhura, and Ensign Pavel Chekov of the USS Enterprise beamed down to this planet to do a standard check when they were abducted by the Triskelions of M24 Alpha. (TOS: "The Gamesters of Triskelion")
Gamma II was identified as a planetoid in the episode.
