Gamma Eridon was a star in Klingon space, located between the Klingon-Romulan border and the inner worlds of the Klingon Empire.
In 2368, Jean-Luc Picard's blockade armada retreated to this location to regroup, following the disabling of their tachyon detection grid, seeking to establish a new grid. However, this proved unnecessary as the USS Sutherland detected the Romulan forces by another method. (TNG: "Redemption II")
Gamma Eridon appeared in the starchart Data and Picard were studying in stellar cartography in 2371. (Star Trek Generations, display graphic)
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts (page 62), Gamma Eridon was a binary star system. Primary was a Class M star. It had a magnitude of +5, which was the same brightness as Sol. The stellar companion was also a Class M star. The system was located in the Beta Quadrant.
In the game Star Trek: Armada, the Gamma Eridon system is infested by the Borg, and Chancellor Martok launches an attack to destroy all enemy forces in the system.
