Gagarin IV was the fourth planet of the Gagarin planetary system. This system was located in the Gamma 7 sector. The atmosphere was capable of supporting humanoid life-forms. In the mid-24th century, this planet was the location of the Darwin Genetic Research Station, a Federation outpost. (TNG: "Unnatural Selection")

According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia, the planet was named after Yuri Gagarin, the first Human in space.
