In 2266, Samuel T. Cogley, defending James T. Kirk in a Starfleet court martial, cited the Declarations as an important step in the pursuit of individual rights. (TOS: "Court Martial")
- The Star Trek: Enterprise episode "Terra Prime" was inspired by the mention of this during the original series, but by the final script the idea had changed so radically that the only real similarity was that they took place on the surface of Mars.
