A freezer unit was a technology designed to keep foodstuffs and other perishables in cold storage.
Gary Mitchell referred to Elizabeth Dehner as a "walking freezer unit" when she was unreceptive to his advances in 2265, an allusion that she later reminded him of. (TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before")
In the script of "Where No Man Has Gone Before", these references were initially to a "walking refrigerator," though this was evidently later changed.
