With the forthcoming extended release of TNG: "The Measure Of A Man", there will be a bit of dialogue between Picard and Admiral Nakamura regarding their shared service aboard a starship Reliant. I know the USS Reliant article already mentions this cut bit of dialogue, but, since it'll be part of the extended cut of the episode, does it officially pass into canon and will an article named USS Reliant (24th century) be necessary? If footage appears as part of an actual airing or release of an episode, and not a separate deleted scene, it is part of canon. We treat the scenes added to Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country in the home video release the same way. So, to answer you, yes, articles could be created about things shown in added footage, including any USS Reliant mentioned. 31dot (talk) 01:31, November 18, 2012 (UTC)

Based on script info, it's almost certainly to be edited back into the "extended" Measure of a Man as part of that version of the episode's final footage. - Aatrek 01:51, November 18, 2012 (UTC)
