Of the top of my head I think the Star trek franchise has released over 700 episodes. While it would be a long effort wouldn't it be worth it to have the transcripts of what happens in these episodes? I know several fan websites already have scripts for episodes so a conversion effort would be easier than starting from scratch given this franchises long history. welcome to comment on my talk page.--FossilLord 21:29, December 12, 2013 (UTC)

The point of Memory Alpha is not to replace the viewing of episodes and films, rather it is to supplement them. Having transcripts on Memory Alpha would be ranging very close to replacing. -- sulfur (talk) 22:24, December 12, 2013 (UTC)

[edit conflict] - It would not be worth it, and could be considered illegal. Star Trek is copyrighted work, and material directly from the shows or films is used here under fair use, which can only be claimed if what we use is a small amount of the total product, like a few quotes and a few images. Any site that has entire transcripts and the amount of images we have might as well be asking to be sued, and we're not interested in that. - Archduk3 22:32, December 12, 2013 (UTC)

Arch Duke of 133t may I point to the examples of recent wiki's like avatar: the legend of korra and adventure time which have transcripts and have not been sued? Also I can not find a record of any other wiki being sued. can we at least put it to some sort of community wide vote? I have arguments for why it would be a good idea and i am sure you can make a good piece about the benefits vis a vis supplementation versus replacing effect of the wiki.
