Quick technical question - the magic word HIDDENCAT can be used to place a category on a page without it appearing in the category listing at the bottom. Can you still access that category generally, i.e. does it have a page in the Category: namespace? Do we use HIDDENCAT anywhere currently? I am thinking of a way to group the articles based on the new film together for ease of browsing using HIDDENCAT. -- Michael Warren | Talk 07:17, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Yes, you can. As a test, I just added the magic word to the category containing this page - Category:Ten Forward. As you can see, there's no longer a categorization on this page, while the category page itself is still accessible as before.
Feel free to revert that test - although I think it might even make sense to not show that category here... -- Cid Highwind 14:29, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Ah, excellent. Oddly, I took it to operate on the article page, rather than the category page, but the latter makes much more sense, now that I think about it. My plan may go forward, then... -- Michael Warren | Talk 15:02, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
