In researching a potential back-story/sequel short story to "First Contact", I have come across a couple of details that have me stumped, and cannot find if these details were ever addressed anywhere in the canon:

1. Titan II missiles were never deployed in Montana. Their silos are in Arkansas, Kansas, and Arizona only. Northwest Montana (far from Bozeman) had Minuteman silos, which are too small to hold a Titan. There are NO ICBM silos near Bozeman.

2. Titan II missiles had two rocket nozzles (but a single, LR87 engine) in the 1st stage - the Phoenix, as it appears in the beginning of the launch, only appears to have one large rocket nozzle. The Titan's 2nd stage DID have a single nozzle, as shown in the film.

I suppose, for the sake of "the story" there could have been "secret, undisclosed" Titan silos near Bozeman, from the 1960's. It would be unlikely that new ones would have been built for WWIII.

Cochrane could have replaced the Titan's twin-nozzle LR87 engine with a more powerful (Saturn) F-1?
