Is there an easy way to increase padding around images (perhaps through an edit of monobook.css)? At least on my PC, using different browsers, the surrounding text touches the border of the images, a most unattractive (and annoying) look; a good example may be seen in Bob. Or is it just something weird about my machine? (FYI, images in Wikipedia don't seem to have this problem, so I'm guessing it's something in monobook.css or elsewhere in one of the layout definition files.) -- Renegade54 10:39, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

I don't see the text touching borders thing that you described. I see you have a custom css (User:Renegade54/monobook.css) you might be able to fix the problem by adding:
div.thumb div img { padding-bottom: XXpx; }
Change XX to whatever you need. You probably know this already, I'm just trying to help. Again, I don't see the same problem. --Bp 17:33, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

I have no idea what's going on here. Even if I blank my monobook.css, the problem is still there. If I'm logged out, though, I don't see the problem, so it definitely seems to be related to my login specifically. The problem carries across all machines, using any browser, as long as I'm logged in as Renegade54. :( -- Renegade54 20:36, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Try completely blanking your monobook.css. The text box should be completely empty. You seem to have some stuff that should not be there. --Bp 20:46, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
Well, if I'm understanding Renegade's problem correctly, the suggested style won't really help. The padding that should be defined instead is:
div.thumb { padding: XXpx; } (eventually just padding-left and -right)
Padding for div.thumb seems to be undefined, so we probably should define it. Regarding the problem "logged in vs. out", could it be that you activated the option "Justify paragraphs" in your preferences? In that case, and with an undefined padding, every line will touch the image border. -- Cid Highwind 22:27, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
Should be fixed now - it was margin, actually, not padding, and I added some of it to the CSS ;) -- Cid Highwind 13:28, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
