I'm suggesting a change to the image use policy to deal with copyright changes. When an image is replaced with another image that has a different copyright, should we delete all the images in the history that don't share the new copyright, or put up a notice that the copyright has changed? The page history still has the correct copyright info, but most users wouldn't check if they don't know there was a change. On the other hand, would it be worth the trouble to make sure all copyright changes have said notice rather then just deleting the old files? Thoughts? - {{User:Archduk3/Sig/nature}} 16:33, April 1, 2010 (UTC)

I'm suggesting a change to the image use policy to deal with copyright changes. The page history still has the correct copyright info, but most users wouldn't check if they don't know there was a change. No. In cases like these, the new image should be uploaded under a new name really. That way the copyright information is easy to follow through the entire series of images. -- sulfur 18:23, February 13, 2011 (UTC)
I agree with Sulfur; the image policy should be changed to make sure that the uploaded images should have a new name. Kjp993 03:44, June 18, 2011 (UTC)
