Is there a particular format for episode pages? I know some have a couple differnt ways, and I thought I once saw a page on how to set that format up. If someone could help me out that'd be great, then I could start on something for some episodes...--Terran Officer 22:29, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, there is "Memory Alpha:Template for Episode", but that should already be on the page your thinking of editing. You may want to look at featured Episode articles for some guidance. - AJ Halliwell 03:00, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

I'd actually like to suggest an alteration to episode template. When I'm looking through the episode pages for a particular episode I've forgotten the name of but remember some details of, or to remind myself what a certain episode is, or I want to get the basic idea of an episode I (gasp) haven't seen -- the featured articles are actually the most difficult to use. While the level of detail on these pages is astounding and I certainly applaud the effort put into these pages, these monstrosities listed under "Summary" are nothing of the sort. The short description is often too little, while the Summary is too much. I'd recommend Goldilocks, give the reader all three:

Short Description

Summary

Teaser

Act I

Act II

Act III

Act IV

The short description remains as is: one or two sentences, summary would be at most a couple paragraphs, and then the entire episode breakdown by acts with extensive detail.

Yes, that would make sense - and I think something like that had already been suggested the last time we discussed some of those "monstrosities". :) Go ahead, be bold and change the articles/templates... -- Cid Highwind 10:14, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
So, to get it straight, you're suggesting three summaries? A brief 1-2 sentence (TV Guide style), a longer more in-depth one, and then the "monstrosity"? If that's the case, at least call that third section "complete episode breakdown" or something then :) -- Sulfur 11:55, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Where did these "acts" come from? I've not seen such a thing on TV since I lasted watched a "Quinn Martin Production". Does it simply refer to an advertisement break? Its a bit confusing to someone who watches mostly on DVD or in the UK where there are no ad breaks Alastairward 14:57, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Yes, that's just it: ad breaks. Without the actual ads, you can tell there's an ad break because the scene will fade completely to black, usually at some mildly if not totally suspenseful moment, then fade back in from black, sometimes on the same exact shot that got faded out. Once you learn to see them, they're recognizable every time. TribbleFurSuit 17:17, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Is it helpful to note these ad breaks? It does look somewhat strange to break up the episode so Alastairward 22:25, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
