I've just watched "Before and After" where we're treated with two baby deliveries. Each time the parents are delighted to discover that "It's a girl!" Which makes me wonder: didn't they know already? Don't they use ultrasounds or something better? I think I remember seeing some DS9 episodes where someone was pregnant (probably Kira but I may be wrong) and where Bashir was regularly performing several routine checks on the pregnant mother. Could anyone point us to the right direction?

Thanks in advance for your lights. PhS 22:11, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Perhaps they just didn't want to know, as some do today. The Doctor accidentally revealed Miral Paris's gender to Tom and B'Elanna in "Lineage" and that was based on a medical scan of some kind, if I remember correctly.--31dot 22:13, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
