Hello all,

I am new to this site but i am a die hard Trek fan. I have come across a canon problem with the Borg.

I was hopng someone here could clear it up for me.

The history of the Borg as told by the Star Trek Legacy game has them being created by the Vger probe from the Star Trek Motion Picture.

The recent books from the Star Trek Destiny series would have us believe that the Borg are the creation of the Caeliar.

I personally beleieve the Vger probe origin makes more since, but I was wondering if anbody knows which is accurate The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.171.3.9 (talk).

Fear not, neither Star Trek Legacy nor the Destiny novels are canon anyways. --OuroborosCobra talk 04:51, March 23, 2010 (UTC)
Memory Beta has a good history of the Borg from the point of view of novels and games, taking all of the different versions and merging them together. -- sulfur 10:19, March 23, 2010 (UTC)

That is slightly comforting, Is there an actual canon origin for the Borg and why is the Trek Wiki listing the Novels version of the borg as the actual history? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Paragonrex (talk • contribs).

Memory Beta, the wiki for licensed Trek material, lists that Borg history. Memory Alpha (here) only deals with TV/Movies as canon, and they never gave an origin for the Borg. Ergo, we have no origin listed for them. -- sulfur 03:18, March 24, 2010 (UTC)
