:It would be nice if you could link to that archived discussion. If there haven't been any responses, the most likely answer is that we don't know, because the writers didn't care to explain in detail. It could be the border of the Bajoran system, or the one towards Cardassian territory, in which case it could be synonymous to Federation-Cardassian border. --Cid Highwind (talk) 10:33, August 15, 2013 (UTC)

I don’t think there was a Federation-Bajoran border. Aside from the "edge of the final frontier" shtick that accompanied DS9’s launch we’ve this from Dukat: "You are far from the Federation fleet, alone in this remote outpost, with poor defence systems. Your Cardassian neighbours will be quick to respond to any problems you might have." Besides there’s surely got to be a Bajoran-Cardassian border of some description as the Siskos depart from the Bajoran sector and end up in Cardassian space in Explorers--Archer4real (talk) 13:37, August 25, 2013 (UTC)

I don’t think there could have been a B-F border as Bajor wasn’t initially, and never became, part of the Federation. Further, Sisko’s sentence that immediate preceded that of Hudson references the Cardassian border; Hudson’s remarks appear designed to point out the comparative vulnerability between this and the Bajoran border, which in my opinion was a B-C border. Reasoned discussions, pls--Archer4real (talk) 09:13, August 27, 2013 (UTC)

Forums  ForumsTen Forward → Bajoran border redux (replywatch)

Is it worth my asking again what the Bajoran border bordered? My previous inquiry’s been archived for lack of responses, and seemingly inclination. And why not? It’s not as though the term were canon or anything stupid like that--Archer4real (talk) 09:57, August 15, 2013 (UTC)

It would be nice if you could link to that archived discussion.

In "The Maquis, Part I", Hudson spoke of "security on the Bajoran border" after the bombing of the Cardassian freighter, suggesting the border was on or at least near Cardassian space. 31dot (talk) 11:07, August 15, 2013 (UTC)

That doesn't mean there wasn't a border, it just means that large numbers of ships were not stationed close to the Bajoran system. Federation space is big, after all. 31dot (talk) 13:47, August 25, 2013 (UTC)
