User:Throwback is currently changing a great many articles to state that their topic is "presumably located in the Alpha quadrant". See Special:Contributions/Throwback.

Is he correct in doing that? Shouldn't information either be a fact or not be added to articles at all? I also added a comment to Talk:Sector 30 before noting that this change wasn't the only one. -- 62.158.250.140 15:22, November 8, 2012 (UTC)

No, you're right... we shouldn't be adding assumptions (or presumptions) to articles. If it's not stated somewhere, it shouldn't be added to the article. Even in the background section, there should be some non-canon or production source for the entry... not just assumptions. -- Renegade54 (talk) 15:38, November 8, 2012 (UTC)
I'll second that- no article should say "presumed to be" somewhere. If we know, we say so, if we don't know, we don't say anything. 31dot (talk) 15:41, November 8, 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick response! -- 62.158.250.140 16:07, November 8, 2012 (UTC)
