Fontana was an early 21st century astronaut. Fontana was on the first manned mission to Saturn, under Colonel Shaun Geoffrey Christopher, and with O'Herlihy. (ENT: "First Flight")
Fontana was named in honor of "Tomorrow is Yesterday" writer D.C. Fontana. The assignment patch for the Earth-Saturn probe was seen in the 602 Club.
In the novel The Rings of Time by Greg Cox, her full name is given as Alice Fontana. A Canadian national, she and Christopher are said to have had a relationship which lasted a year and a half prior to the Saturn mission in 2020.
