Flavius Maximus was a Roman of the planet 892-IV who rejected the Roman way of life to follow the Children of the Son, a group of dissidents that preached equality, compassion and the teachings of the Son of the one true God. Prior to joining the Children of the Son, and becoming a slave, Flavius was the most popular and successful gladiator in his province for seven years running.

In 2268, he was captured and forced to fight again, on the televised arena game Name the Winner. He was killed trying to prevent the execution of USS Enterprise Captain James T. Kirk. (TOS: "Bread and Circuses")

Flavius was played by actor Rhodes Reason.
