Fisher (Technician)

Fisher was a geological technician serving aboard the USS Enterprise in 2266.

In that year, Fisher was a member of a specimen-gathering mission on the surface of planet Alfa 177. During the mission, Fisher fell off of a rock bank, becoming covered in an exotic magnetic ore. This ore caused a transporter malfunction when Fisher was beamed back to the ship, resulting in the creation of a duplicate of Captain James T. Kirk, possessed of all of Kirk's dark tendencies and animal instincts. Fisher later witnessed this double attempting to sexually assault Yeoman Janice Rand, and was incapacitated by him as he was attempting to contact Commander Spock. Fisher would later support Yeoman Rand's assertion that Captain Kirk had attacked her. (TOS: "The Enemy Within")

Fisher was played by Ed Madden. Madden also played a geologist in TOS: "The Cage", which takes place in 2254, approximately a dozen years before his appearance as Fisher. It seems unlikely the creators could have intended this to be the same man, as there would presumably be some changes in appearance over a decade of time.
