The Filian python is a variety of burrowing snake.
When Odo encouraged an infant Founder to change its shape, he told the baby it could be anything, a Tarkalean hawk, soaring through the sky or a Filian python, burrowing deep beneath the ground. (DS9: "The Begotten")
