Legibility[]
Was a legible version of this file visible in the ENT episode? – Vivec 12:28, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Not 100% legible but it was sufficiently visible for us to include the record. -- Captain M.K.B. 13:10, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- This image description page links to another image, File:Historical archive, Starfleet.jpg, which is a screenshot from "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II". According to our policies, we can use a legible production resource (this image) to decipher an image that was shown on-screen. -- Cid Highwind 13:47, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
How does Memory Alpha authenticate submitted production resources? – Vivec 22:30, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- How do you mean? --Alan del Beccio 22:40, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Suppose that I made a page with a starfleet logo and some text with outlandish claims and bogus dates. I sign my contribution 'J.J.Abrams'. How would this be debunked? If I truly was JJ, how would I confirm my connection to Trek (and consequently my legitimate production resource)? – Vivec 22:55, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Because several of us, including bureaucrats and administrators, have been in direct contact with the contributor and have been sufficiently satisfied with the legitimacy of the source. This same individual, who, to my knowledge, has wished to remain anonymous, so we are made efforts to honor that request. But simply put, he is not the first, nor likely the last individual to visit this site who has had direct influences in the Star Trek Universe. If they can provide the credentials, we can and will support the source. --Alan del Beccio 23:07, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Ok, thanks. I guess if there are inaccuracies in this doc then they'll have to be explained by 'mirror-universe' distortions. :) – Vivec 08:09, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
I just now read your forum response. It is feasible when you mention the radiation, and Cochrane was probably a scientific prodigy, so his young age isn't that surprising. Anyway, thanks for a thorough answer. I'm convinced, and will move onto some other constructive endeavour. – Vivec 08:17, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Okuda Chronology[]
Would it be out of line to state bluntly that this image was directly lifted, with minor updating edits by the writers, from the Michael and Denise Okuda Star Trek Chronology? And if so, where would one mention it? --ChrisK 10:57, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
