Heating coil

A heating coil was a device used to power cooking devices.

Neelix obtained one in 2376 as part of a trade with "Sister" Dala, which subsequently caused a ship-wide system failure due to contamination leaking into the integrated circuitry. Its discovery led to the knowledge that certain Starfleet officers were being impersonated. (VOY: "Live Fast and Prosper")
