The shuttlecraft Feynman (NCC-1701-D/05) was a type 7 shuttlecraft assigned to the USS Enterprise-D.
In 2367, Geordi La Forge and Reginald Barclay used this shuttle to inspect the Argus Array. (TNG: "The Nth Degree")
In 2369, Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Doctor Beverly Crusher, and Lieutenant Worf flew the Feynman to a trading outpost near the Cardassian border in order to secure passage to Celtris III aboard DaiMon Solok's Ferengi vessel. (TNG: "Chain of Command, Part I")
Background information
The Feynman was named for physicist Richard Feynman. The name was misspelled as Feyman on the exterior of the craft due to a mistake made by the art department (Star Trek Encyclopedia). It was also mispronounced in the episode as FAIN-man, when the correct pronunciation is FINE-man. Its interior was represented by that of a type 6 shuttlecraft. The fate of the Feynman is not known, as both Crusher and Worf were retrieved by Will Riker in another shuttlecraft.
The Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion identifies the shuttle used in the episode TNG: "The Nth Degree" as the Feynman.
