FGC is a prefix used when assigning numerical designations to stars and stellar bodies. FGC 1215 and cluster FGC 13 are among the objects that have designations of this sort.
- It seems likely that this stands for "Federation General Catalog", or something similar, however it was used in one instance to describe a globular cluster, which could also be what the "GC" also stood for.
