FGC is a prefix used when assigning numerical designations to stars and stellar bodies. FGC 1215 and cluster FGC 13 are among the objects that have designations of this sort.

It seems likely that this stands for "Federation General Catalog", or something similar, however it was used in one instance to describe a globular cluster, which could also be what the "GC" also stood for.
