An examination table was a standard component of most starship sickbays during the 23rd century. It was eventually replaced by the more advanced biobed.

In 2269 a Vendorian spy aboard the USS Enterprise assumed the form of an examination table in an attempt to elude capture. (TAS: "The Survivor")
