Evans was a crewmember aboard the 21st century NASA explorer ship Charybdis, launched on July 23, 2037. He was among the crew killed when the ship was swept off course by an unknown alien force. (TNG: "The Royale")
The mission patch for the Charybdis is the actual mission patch for the Apollo 17 mission, which took the last men to the Moon. Ronald Evans was Command Module Pilot for that mission.
