Epsilon Canaris III was an inhabited planet. This was the homeworld of a native species. It was the third planet in the Epsilon Canaris planetary system.
The planet was located near the Gamma Canaris region.
In 2267, Assistant Commissioner Nancy Hedford was dispatched there to prevent the outbreak of war. The commissioner developed Sakuro's Disease and had to be evacuated; subsequent events made her return impossible, and necessitated the assignment of another mediator. (TOS: "Metamorphosis")
Presumably, Epsilon Canaris III was located in the Alpha Quadrant.
According to Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets I"), in 2378, Epsilon Canaris III was a Federation member.
