In 2368, a Borg cube was severely damaged by an electrokinetic storm in the Nekrit Expanse in the Delta Quadrant. Five years later, the cube was discovered by the crew of the USS Voyager, who retrieved the corpse of a Borg drone for inspection. The Doctor's examination indicated extensive alveolar damage to the drone's pulmonary system, as well as signs of severe cardiac depolarization, supporting the conclusion that the drone had been electrocuted by a massive electromechanical discharge as a result of the storm.
