Ed Trotta is the actor who played Pit in the Star Trek: Voyager episode "The Chute".

Trotta began his television work appearing on Hunter in "Turning Point" (1987, with Valerie Wildman). Next for Trotta was the 1980's TV remake of Dragnet in "The Payback" (1989, with Thalmus Rasulala). Trotta continued the crime series tradition working on Equal Justice in "Cop's Story" (1990, with Kamala Dawson, John Hostetter, Jack Kehler, and Angela Paton). Trotta had his sci-fi debut guesting on Babylon 5 in "Point of No Return" (1990, starring Andreas Katsulas and Bill Mumy, with Vaughn Armstrong, Majel Barrett-Roddenberry, and Marshall Teague). Save for Voyager, this was Trotta's last television guest work for ten years, then Trotta was seen on the vampire drama Angel in "Guise Will Be Guys" (2000, with Brigid Brannagh and Patrick Kilpatrick). Trotta next was seen on the short-lived sitcom Stacked in "Gavin's Pipe Dream" (2005, starring Christopher Lloyd).

Trotta's film work includes the 1990 telefilm I'm Dangerous Tonight (with Madchen Amick, Jason Brooks, and Juan García). Trotta then was seen in the high school drama Pump Up the Volume (starring Christian Slater, and with Gregg Daniel, Alexander Enberg, Clayton Landey, Robert Schenkkan, and John K. Shull). Trotta was next cast in Huck & the King of Hearts (1994, with Joe Piscopo). That same year Trotta worked on The Hard Truth (with Reg E. Cathey, Nicholas Cascone, and Brian Markinson). Trotta then joined the many Trek alumni who appeared in the lawyer comedy Liar, Liar (1997, joining Anne Haney, Don Keefer, Christopher Mayer, Randy Oglesby, Eric Pierpoint, and Mitchell Ryan). Trotta was also cast in the martial arts drama Inferno (alongside Larry Drake, Bill Erwin, Evelyn Guerrero, Jeff Kober, Michael Papajohn, Vincent Schiavelli, and Robert Symonds). In 2000, Trotta lent his voice to the video game Diablo 2 (with Paul Eiding, Brian George, Frank Gorshin, Castulo Guerra, and Nina Minton), then again for the Diablo franchise, Trotta had a voice role in "Lord of Destruction" (2001, with Michael Bell). 2001 also saw Trotta appearing in the thriller Soulkeeper (with Brad Dourif and Tommy "Tiny" Lister, Jr.). Trotta followed this with A Little Crazy (2003, with Clay Wilcox). Trotta then acted in the comedy Guns Before Butter (2005, with Lawrence Monoson); his final film role to date was in the spoof Extreme Movie (2008, with Dennis Cockrum and Hank Harris).
