Summary
Following the attack on Earth in the season 2 finale "The Expanse", the crew of Enterprise attempt to seek out the Xindi and stop them launching their much larger, and much more devastating, weapon.

Background information
- The episode order for this season was cut from 26 to 24 episodes by Paramount, following some disappointing early ratings. As the season drew to a close, rumours grew that cancellation was close at hand, but the fourth season was confirmed on May 20th, 2004.
- The title of the series changed to Star Trek: Enterprise after "Extinction" was broadcast.
