History

Prior to stardate 41775, Dytallix B was mined for the Federation by the Dytallix Mining Company. This was one of seven uninhabited planets mined by this company. The mines were located in the temperate zones between the day and night hemispheres.

In 2364, the mines had been long abandoned and were used as a secret meeting place by Starfleet Captains Walker Keel, Rixx, Tryla Scott, and Jean-Luc Picard to discuss the infiltration of Starfleet Command by neural parasites. (TNG: "Conspiracy")

The planet model for this world was first used to represent Velara III ("Home Soil") and was later used to represent the Starbase 73 planet. ("Up The Long Ladder")
According to the script's episode, the planet's pronunciation was "die-TAL-icks Bee". [1]
