Dyspnea was a medical term describing a sensation of difficulty in breathing.

Dyspnea was a symptom (that is, the patient noticed it him/herself) and not a sign (e.g. only a doctor noticed the condition during a medical examination), except in certain cases or with certain species, Tellarites for example.
