Template:Sidebar character Duras was a Klingon warrior, the son of Toral.

He commanded the IKS Bortas until his failure to apprehend the Raatooran rebels in late 2152. Humiliated by Captain Jonathan Archer of the Enterprise NX-01, he was demoted to second weapons officer and sent to serve at Ty'Gokor in humiliation. He testified at Archer's trial before a Klingon court on charges that Archer conspired against the Klingon Empire. He lied about the event concerning the Raatooras rebels in order to protect himself, stating that Archer was the aggressor.

After the failure of the Tellarite bounty hunter Skalaar to capture Archer in March of 2153, Duras was given a Bird-of-Prey for one last chance to capture Archer. He pursued Archer all the way to Earth, but was fended off by three Starfleet ships on April 24th. His ship lay in wait during the refit of Enterprise, and he resumed pursuit once Enterprise began heading for the Delphic Expanse in May.

His ship was damaged by the new photonic torpedoes installed on Enterprise and he did not catch up again until the Starfleet vessel reached the Expanse in July of 2153, where Duras received assistance from two more ships. They pursued Enterprise into the thermobaric clouds surrounding the Expanse, but the other two ships turned back before entering the Expanse proper. Duras's ship was left to fend for itself and was destroyed when Enterprise executed an L-4 maneuver, putting the ship behind Duras' Bird-of-Prey. The following attack destroyed the Klingon ship, killing its entire crew.

Duras was played by Daniel Riordan.
Duras is most likely an ancestor of TNG's Duras family, which includes Ja'rod, Duras, Lursa, B'Etor, and Toral. This is supported by the fact that both this Duras and his namesake (as well as his namesake's kin) have the same pattern of forehead ridges.
