According to a line cut from "Encounter at Farpoint", duraglass, along with tritanium, were used in the construction of Federation space stations. A spaceborne entity imprisoned by the Bandi duplicated the atomic structure of this material for Farpoint Station. The presence of this modern material in close proximity to the less advanced Old Bandi City aroused the suspicion of Starfleet who requested a closer examination of the station. [1]
