In 2365, Data attempted to located a comedian to help him better understand the concept of "what is funny?". Graves was among the the holodeck program files that were contained aboard the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG: "The Outrageous Okona")
This character was named for Douglas E. Graves, a digital artist who contributed to Trek productions including the 2012 Ships of the Line calendar, and was not listed in the original version of "The Outrageous Okona".
