The Doosodarians were an ancient culture. Much of their poetry was characterized by empty spaces called lacunae, which measured several days in length. During these pauses, the poet and audience were encouraged to acknowledge the "emptiness" of the experience. The Doosodarians believed that while the poem might be blank, the emptiness had a poetic meaning, so it could not be considered "nothing" as such. (TNG: "Interface")

This culture was only mentioned in dialogue.
