Don Lanning (born 2 April 1965; age 58) is a special effects creature designer and sculptor for Hollywood films. He recently worked with the Proteus Make-up FX Team as key sculptor on Star Trek and worked on the characters Keenser and Alnschloss K'Bentayr as well as on the Gorn from the deleted scene.

Lanning has worked frequently with the make-up effects studios KNB EFX Group, Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc. (ADI), and Patrick Tatopolos Designs. His projects for KNB include Vampires, The X-Files, Rat Race (starring Whoopi Goldberg and Lanei Chapman), Planet of the Apes (2001, featuring Erick Avari, Cary-Hiroyuki, and David Warner), Hearts in Atlantis (starring Anton Yelchin), and Vanilla Sky (2001).

For ADI, Lanning lent his skills to films such as The Santa Clause 2 (featuring Michael Dorn), Looney Tunes: Back in Action (featuring Marc Lawrence, Dick Miller, George Murdock, Ron Perlman, and Robert Picardo), and Alien vs. Predator. The Tatopolos studio employed Lanning's talents for Underworld (2003) and Underworld: Evolution (2006), as well as the horror films They and Silent Hill.

Lanning has also worked as a sculptor with Spectral Motion on the films Hellboy (starring the aforementioned Ron Perlman of Star Trek Nemesis), Blade: Trinity, and Fantastic Four. His other projects include Mr. Deeds (starring Winona Ryder), Superman Returns (2006, directed by Bryan Singer), and Team America: World Police (2004).
