Diboridium core is a piece of Cardassian technology.

In 2351, Bajoran scientists Dekon Elig and Surmak Ren planted the aphasia device on Terok Nor, created to induce aphasia among the Cardassians on the station. It was powered by a diboridium core. (DS9: "Babel")
