The Devonian is a geological period on Earth. Amongst the creatures living in this era was the Eryops, believed to be the last common ancestor between cold-blooded and warm-blooded animals. ("Distant Origin")
This is in contradiction with the current understanding that the Eryops was actually native to the Permian.
In late 2370, Benjamin Sisko, Jake, Quark and Nog visited a planet in the Gamma Quadrant that was similar to Earth at the time of the Devonian. (DS9: "The Jem'Hadar")
