The Devonian was a geological period on Earth. Among the creatures living in this era was the Eryops, believed to be the last common ancestor between cold-blooded and warm-blooded animals. (VOY: "Distant Origin")
This is in contradiction with the current understanding that the Eryops was actually native to the Permian.
In late 2370, Benjamin Sisko, Jake, Quark, and Nog visited a planet in the Gamma Quadrant that was similar to Earth at the time of the Devonian. (DS9: "The Jem'Hadar")
