In 2371, McCarthy was listed among USS Voyager's crew on that vessel's crew manifest. (VOY: "Projections")
The character was never mentioned in dialog; the name came from a Starship Deploy Status chart seen on Starbase 173. His name was seen again on a crew manifest.
