The Denkiri Arm is a spiral extension of the Milky Way Galaxy in the Gamma Quadrant as designated by the Federation. The distance to the Denkiri Arm from Federation space would take over a century to cover at Warp 9. A potential shortcut across this distance was discovered in the Barzan wormhole in 2366. However, the wormhole proved unstable and the terminus shifted from the Gamma Quadrant to Sector 3556 of the Delta Quadrant. (TNG: "The Price")

Another shortcut to the Gamma Quadrant was later discovered in the Bajoran wormhole which lead to the Idran system. It is not known how close that wormhole's terminus is to the Gamma Quadrant terminus of the Barzan wormhole. (DS9: "Emissary")
